Although those of them I knew were exceptionally good to me and I loved them, they we not very giving people. I am not sure your dad was too young to be a dad as he was really happy about your arrival in this world but he did none of the things that young dads do today to help care for their baby. That just wasn't his way. That may be one of the reasons you have never had that closeness with him.
He sees himself as Mr Wonderful and that will never change. I am glad you now feel he does love you and, as you say above, always has in his own way.
I guess I am partly to blame for your problems as had I married someone else you would have had a different father, but maybe worse so be content with the one you have, and be thankful that your step-father has quietly helped fill the role through your later life.
Mimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-41360138695613806.post-49004195942061087442014-09-07T09:54:58.491+08:002014-09-07T09:54:58.491+08:00I hear you. And agree wholeheartedly.
In many way...I hear you. And agree wholeheartedly.
In many ways my father wasn't a good father. He cared, but it didn't come easily to him. His experiences in the war (he was a German Jew) damaged him and made expressing positive emotions difficult.
But he did the best he could - and I can't ask more than that.Elephant's Childhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06650565833097914052noreply@blogger.com
