The ReLaunch

So, in an attempt to get back into blogging,  I'm relaunching my this blog.  It's been sitting here gathering dust for over three years now. Life moving on at a fast pace and too little time meant it fell by the wayside.

I don't seem to have the blogging mojo especially to blog about my life and all the complexities that surround that, well not at the moment.  So given The Half Full Glass was started all those years back as I way for me to focus on the good, to see the glass as half full rather than half empty, it seems a good idea to drag it out of mothballs and use it in the way it was intended - as inspiration for me and any others who may drop by from time to time.

One of the things I realised when I started doing the #100HappyDays challenge on FaceBook was that there is something good in every day (well I always knew that) and I was happily popping up the daily bits and pieces that made me feel good, but then some major life events happened to members of my immediate family and it felt wrong for me to be prattling on each and every day about what I was happy about when they were obviously struggling.  So I ended up stopping the challenge.  But you know what, I sort of missed it.

So with the onset of another Super Moon on the horizon (and I'm hoping that tonight may be cloud free so that I can get some great shot with my new camera) it seemed like the time was right to relaunch this blog.  Now I am not promising daily posts, they may only be weekly at best, but taking one day in each week to celebrate all the good things that have happened seems like something I should be doing about now.

If I manage to get some photos, I'll pop back and share them too (the black and white ones below I took a couple of full moons ago with my new camera - as you can see I had trouble holding it so that I got the whole moon in the shot).

So without further ado here are some moon quotes in honour of the glorious celestial being that shares it's orbit with us:

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth - Buddha

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator - Mahatma Gandhi

Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star - W. Clement Stone

Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars - Les Brown

The day, water, sun, moon, night - I do not have to purchase these things with money - Plautus

And the one I love the most ...

The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It's always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it's a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections - Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me.

Thanks for popping by, I would love you to share your thoughts.  Do you love a full moon rising in the dark night sky, or sinking down through the blue of the morning sky as oft seems to happen as much as I do?   xxx

  1. LOVE that final quote. Something to hang onto on the dark days when I am having an inadequacy attack. This too will pass.
And I am awed at your moon shots. Mine are always woeful.
Yes, I do love the moon. Serene and beautiful in all of its phases.

    1. Thanks for following me over from my other blog EC. I'm trying to get my blogging mojo back, struggling though with what to put about family without crossing boundaries etc. Also been very slack with visiting and commenting on others people's blogs, yours included so extra thanks for hanging in there for me to post something. So glad you found something here to help you on those days - we all have them. Hope you are keeping reasonably well. xxx

  2. We know the moon is just a dead lump of rock but its appearance in the night sky loses none of its magic and mystery.

    1. Surprising how much joy that lump of rock can bring, and how much inspiration if you think of the drive to get there in years past. The full moon is always special for me, especially when I think my friends and family no matter where they are see the same moon as me. Thanks for following me over from my other blog. I apologise for my lack of commenting on yours lately. xxx

  3. This is the third time I've attempted to leave a comment so here's hoping it works this time.
I was delighted to see you have re-opened this blog as I always thought it such a good idea.
Strangely enough, when you mentioned the current full moon on Facebook, the thought went through my mind that perhaps one day you would revitalise this blog and now you have. Fantastic.
I realise there were a few problems that arose in recent weeks and I can fully understand your reluctance to quote the good things each day. Fortunately those problems seems to have diminished somewhat so our lives can once again forge ahead.
Look forward to future posts right here. xxx

    1. Well it worked this time Mimsie. Life is a series of circles and we know that as much as anyone else does. Yes the circle seems to be slowing and the road is less bumpy and for that I give thanks. As usual we seem to be in sync xxx

  4. I meant to add how much pleasure I have in viewing our moon. I remember years ago when your #2 daughter was quite young, she and I having a discussion about just who the moon belonged to. She said it was her moon so I had to explain it was her moon when she could see it at her home but it was my mine when we could see it where I lived. She also remembers that conversation and we've had a few laughs about it over the years.

  5. I do remember the that My Moon debate from many years ago, and often think of it when I see the full moon rising in the sky and it makes me smile. xxx
